Anne's 4th of July Cake

  • Sara Lee pound cake
  • Cool Whip
  • Fresh Strawberries
  • Fresh Blueberries

1. Slice the pound cake and arrange in cake pan.

2. Spread the cool whip to cover the cake.

3. Arrange the blueberries in the upper left corner to represent the stars of the American flag.

4. Slice the strawberries and place them in rows for the stripes of the flag.

This recipe is easy and soooo patriotic!

Anne's 'Surprise' Pasta Salad

  • 4 cups cooked pasta
  • 3 1/2 cups chopped fresh vegetables (carrots, black olives, cucumbers, onion, tomatoes, broccoli or whatever your family likes)
  • 1 cup Italian or creamy dressing
  • 4 Tbsp. salad supreme seasoning

Combine and refrigerate until ready to serve. Add more dressing, if necessary, and toss before serving. Add sliced pepperoni for extra flavor.

Diane's Chicken Casserole

Filling...

  • 3 chicken breasts
  • 1 can chicken broth
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 1 package frozen mixed vegetables

1. Cook and boil chicken in water; save broth.

2. Tear or cut chicken into pieces.

3. Mix together chicken, soup, broth and mixed vegetables. Pour into a 9x13 pan.

Topping...

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 stick oleo

1. Mix topping together like a paste and pour over chicken and vegetable mixture.

2. Bake at 350-400 degrees for one hour. (Can bake a half hour to make it just a bit more brown if you like.)

Pam's Monster Bars

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups peanut butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 4 1/2 cups oatmeal
  • 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups mini M&M's

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. Cream the butter and sugars together.

3. Add eggs and peanut butter and mix.

4. Stir in vanilla, baking soda and oatmeal.

5. Stir in chocolate chips and M&M's.

6. Put in lightly greaxed 10x15 pan.

7. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Do not overbake!

Rod's R&R Peanut Butter Cookies

  • 3/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup lard
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp. milk
  • 1 Tbsp. vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • dash salt
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

1. Heat Oven to 375 degrees F.

2. Combine peanut butter, lard, brown sugar, milk and vanilla. Beat until well blended and fluffy.

3. Add egg, baking soda and salt; mix well.

4. Stir in flour.

5. Drop spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Flatten in a criss-cross pattern with fork dippped in sugar.

6. Bake until lightly brown.
