Grain News - June 2019

As I write this, there are some large unknowns in during this marketing season, the largest being whether we will be able to get a crop in the ground or if Prevent Plant is the best option. Let’s hope everything is in the ground when this newsletter comes out. If we do have a lack of planting and you have New Crop contracts that you may have trouble filling, get ahold of us sooner rather than later and we will look at options.

The MFP Round 2 details are just being announced, and it seems like the best option will be to get a crop in the ground if possible. At this point it’s not very clear how this will all work, so be sure to watch that closely going forward.

On a personal note, I will be leaving Equity Elevator in mid-July as my wife and I move to Minneapolis for the next step of her schooling through the University of Minnesota. I have been with Equity for 3.5 years, and I have appreciated the opportunity to serve you in the grain department. My transition out will be seamless since we have a great team here to serve you.

Thank you,
