Patrons,

I hope everyone had a great winter and you are now gearing up for another planting season.

Before we get into the busy spring/summer season, it would be a good idea to get some target offers in at profitable levels for both old crop and new crop grain. Pam or I will gladly take these orders, so give us a call or stop in anytime.

With all of the discussion caused by the Section 199A “Grain Glitch” we saw a lot of people asking about direct ship in order to capture the tax benefits. I encourage you even now, after the fix to this tax issue, to check with us on all your grain selling needs, including direct ship.

On March 29th we saw the USDA put prospective planting acres at 88 million corn acres and 89 million soybean acres. This is a welcome reduction in planted acres from prior years and expectations as we wade through ample old crop stocks. Demand has been solid so far, and hopefully this is the case moving through the spring and summer.

Just a reminder that the 2017 crop was the final crop year for the Grain/Agronomy Loyalty Program. All qualifying grain will need to be sold by August 31st, 2018 to have the premium applied to the settlement.
